Three case examples
iGEM recently moved its HQ to France, and the European biotech industry largely didn't know it. It reaches thousands of scientists a year, almost all of them academic. My job was to connect iGEM to the traditional biotech sector. In 2025 I built the first BioInnovation Summit to bring industry into the Jamboree, and launched BioVisionaries, an online conversation series with people running biotech companies and funds.
A fund with a deal in front of them in a synbio field they didn't know well. I assessed the technology, scalability, regulatory requirements and IP strategy, then joined the investment committee discussion.

I work alongside biotech founders on the next iteration of their pitch deck. I simplify scientific jargon without flattening it, build a story that resonates, and improve the structure and design of the slides to strengthen the narrative.

A week-long umbrella connecting independent biotech events across Paris; organizers keep their own. Co-founded with Xavier Duportet.
A closed summit on the biotechnology that underpins Europe's medicines, food and chemicals, and how Europe secures it. The European Bioresilience Summit is an official BioWeek event initiated by Amplicon and supported by McDermott Will & Schulte, Genopole and the German Association for Synthetic Biology.
The BioInnovation Summit is an industry-focused summit within the iGEM Grand Jamboree, built to bring companies, policymakers and funds that bridge the gap from lab to market. The first edition ran one day with 20+ speakers in 2025; in 2026 it becomes three days, inside the Grand Jamboree.

I started Amplicon in 2025 combining three things I've built over more than a decade: ecosystem organizations across European deeptech and biotech, hands-on experience scaling a biotech startup, and years spent training scientists to explain what they do.
Before Amplicon, as Chief Innovation Officer at Gourmey (now Parima), I drove the company from R&D into production, from four people to nearly seventy, through pre-seed to pre-Series B. I led the first cultivated meat dossier submitted to EFSA, and submissions to FDA/USDA, the UK, Switzerland and Singapore.

I hold a PhD in synthetic biology and microbiology from Université Paris Cité/INSERM, where I built engineered E. coli platforms for TB antibiotic discovery; degrees in Life Science & Technology from TU Delft and Leiden. In parallel, I spent over a decade on ecosystem work, in leading roles building and developing deeptech/biotech networks: Kairos Society The Netherlands, Hello Tomorrow, France Deeptech, iGEM. As faculty at Singularity University, I've taught 18+ executive programs to senior leaders across the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Silicon Valley, and through Science Matters I've trained hundreds of scientists to explain their own work to people outside it.
